Attica - Hosea Clair Cronkhite, 72, a farmer residing south of Attica, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (Apr. 3, 1951) at the St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette following an illness of two years. He was born Oct. 21, 1878, in Warren County the son of Frank and Elizabeth Goodrich Cronkhite. He had spent his life in Warren and Fountain Counties. He was married Mar. 22, 1903 to Clara Chapman of West Lebanon who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Opal Smith of Ross, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Dessie Schlosser of Williamsport, and Mrs. Mary Krabbee of Champaign, and two grandchildren. The body was returned to the family residence Wednesday afternoon where it will remain until time for services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Union Christian Church south of Attica. The Rev. Milford Knowles and the Rev. Mr. Crubaugh will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Attica with the Coffing & Robinson Funeral Home in charge.
